2017 IIHS Top Safety Pick Vehicles

Vehicle safety is an important factor to consider when shopping for a new vehicle.

Checking a vehicle’s safety rating is a good way of benchmarking competitive vehicles, and their abilities to protect occupants in the event of a collision. The vehicles listed below have all achieved a score of “Good” or higher in a number of tests which are designed to test the vehicle’s limits. Tests include a moderate overlap front side crash, side crash, roof strength and head restraint test. Top Safety Pick+ vehicles also offer a front collision autobraking system that scores “Advanced” or “Superior” as standard or optional equipment. Check out the table below to see the IIHS’ Top Safety Picks for each car category.
