Subaru has noticed the changes in the trend with the automotive industry and it seems like they are now moving on from powerhouse cars to better performance cars, the 2016 Subaru WRX STI specifically.
The new 2016 Subaru WRX is now a lot more fuel efficient than its previous model which may be because Subaru has realized they might be able to do better in sales if they go with a new angle when marketing their cars. In terms of looks, they haven’t made any major alterations to it. However, with a combination of the exterior and interior looks, and the engine which is said to have been improved in performance, this new model is a great new car to go for.
The exterior looks a lot more handsome than the WRX model. Starting at the grille, even though it is similarly shaped it seems a lot sleeker with A simple STI text at the bottom right of it. The headlights look a lot more stylish too, with the LED lights as the outline of them. It seems almost as though they are going for a luxurious look. The fog lights are similarly styled with the lights outlined around the shape. The overall shape of the exterior build seems a lot sportier than the WRK model giving it that edge. Taking a look at the rear view of the sedan, we can see some similarities to the WRX model. However what they did change were the tail lights. The tail lights again, have a sportier look to it giving off more active vibes from the look.
The interior doesn’t seem that extravagant. With a centre console right at the middle of the front, buttons and other functions under it, and plastic looking material everywhere, the interior designs for the WRX STI isn’t that appealing. In terms of space, they have hit that point by including a decent amount of space both for front passengers and rear passengers when it comes to legroom and headroom. Some features that are included are cruise control, pre-collision braking and lane-departure warning, along with lane-keep assist, Harman Kardon amplifier and speakers, keyless access and start and blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert.
Under the hood we can see Subaru is using a 2.5-litre turbo four-cylinder outfitted with a twin-scroll turbocharger and intercooler as well as direct injection. The engine will be able to push 305 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque. The engine will be run on either a manual or a continuously variable six-speed transmission that will be all wheel drive. In terms of fuel efficiency, the WRX STI will require about 12 litres for every 100 kilometres driven in the city, 9 litres for every 100 kilometres driven on the highway, and with a combination of driving both on the highway and in the city it will require about 10 litres.
It seems like the STI would be a much better option to go with when comparing it to the regular WRX model. With a much better looking exterior, and more powerful engine, the 2016 Subaru WRX STI looks like it has a lot of potential to reach out to a lot of drivers out there as it covers a lot of bases with its features.

|Power and Performance:|
As for the STI, it feels sharper and more vivid, but not all that much quicker. It carries forward with the exact same 2.5-liter turbo four as last year, making 305 hp and 290 lb-ft. It's mated to an improved six-speed manual gearbox, and power is delivered via a special Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD), bringing a helical limited-slip front differential and Torsen limited-slip rear diff. With it you get bigger Brembo brakes, a stiffer suspension tune (with revised geometry in front), and hydraulic-boost steering with a quicker ratio.

The STI variant wears a big wing to differentiate it from the WRX and Impreza. For 2016, however, the top STI can be optioned with a low-profile trunk spoiler like the WRX's, perhaps for those who think the heritage-laden shelf calls too much of the bad kind of attention to the car.
The models are also no longer offered as hatchbacks: in order to put all that money into the drivetrain, Subaru focused on just one body style and says the hatch won't be back. That could change, of course, as the last WRX was originally hatch-only and sprouted a sedan variant late in the generation.

Subaru has upped the available safety content on the WRX and STI one year into this generation, with the 2016 model gaining a few systems for certain models. While the car already enjoyed good crash-test ratings, the additional equipment should further bolster its scores.
Subaru's camera-based EyeSight safety suite is now available on the WRX Limited with Lineartronic CVT, enabling adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keep assist. It is bundled in a package that also includes navigation and blind-spot detection, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. Although EyeSight is not available on the WRX STI—it's not compatible with manual-transmission vehicles—the Limited STI adds blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert.
