Full Review

The 2016 Lincoln MKC is both powerful and comfortable for everyday driving, and likewise features tons of features sure to make your life easier. From a sleek aesthetic profile to refined leather interior and a great engine lineup, this vehicle aims to please with a spacious cabin and all the latest technology. Evidenced throughout the vehicle’s core is a great attention to detail and significant consideration for the true meaning of luxury. The new MKC is among the best crossover vehicles for performance and comfort, combining the best of both worlds with an absolutely dominant presence on the road.

The new Lincoln MKC receives minimal changes from the previous models upgrade, largely retaining the same crisp lines and sculpted body that people love. Its wide structure and distinctive split-wing grille definitely stands out on the road and provides a stable foundation for the five-passenger crossover. On top of HID headlamps with signature LED accents and a wrap-around liftgate, the new MKC receives LED taillights, Xenon headlights and power-folding mirrors in Premiere trims, providing a well-equipped SUV with maximum visibility. Reserve trims further feature a panoramic sunroof and power liftgate for a relaxed driving experience. The new Lincoln definitely receives an aesthetic facelift and appears to be more attractive, if that’s possible.

Lincoln also creates a peaceful space within the interior cabin, lining the core with premium materials and an upgraded suite of technological capabilities. Authentic aluminum and available wood trim run throughout the space while all five passengers receive heated leather seating and an exceptionally comfortable driving experience. The center console features slight upgrades, such as an eight-inch touchscreen that hosts Sync 3 infotainment and navigation. Likewise, the new MKC also features Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control and keyless access.

The biggest highlight of the new Lincoln, however, can be found in the upgraded powertrain that flaunts improved performance. Standard with the base MKC is a 2.0-litre turbocharged EcoBoost engine that features direction injection and produces 240 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. This unit offers a fuel economy of 14.1 litres per 100 kilometres city and 9.7 litres per 100 kilometres highway. Alternatively, the MKC is available with the 2.3 turbocharged EcoBoost engine that features both direct injection and a twin-independent variable cam timing system. This unit may be the most powerful engine in its category, producing 275 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque and rated at 15.7 litres per 100 kilometres city and 10.9 litres per 100 kilometres highway. Both engines are mated to a fresh six-speed Shiftable Automatic transmission and run on standard all-wheel drive. Though not hugely fuel efficient, both excel in performance and haul the large, spacious cabin smoothly. Standard safety features include parking assistants, accident warning with brake support, blind spot monitoring and lane-keep assistant.

As it stands, the 2016 Lincoln MKC is an incredibly attractive crossover SUV, equipped with a spacious cabin and great powertrain. If you’re looking for an overall functional and spacious vehicle, this might be the best fit.
