Quick Look

The 2016 Cadillac Escalade definitely appeals to dynamic drivers looking for the best in the full size luxury SUV range. As a model that carries over relatively unchanged, the new Escalade features a slightly modified interior cabin with lush detailing such as real wood trims and leather upholstery. The biggest highlight, however, is found in the updated technology suite that features an upgraded Driver Awareness Package and improved Surround Vision with front and rear view camera setups. The current models powertrain is forceful but out-dated, sporting a 6.2-litre Flex-Fuel V8 engine that produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Nonetheless, this vehicle is definitely engineered for transporting people and looking fresh, providing drivers with ultimate space, comfort and assistance.

Full Review

The 2016 Cadillac Escalade is both spacious and comfortable, exhibiting the finest leather upholstery throughout its interior and the latest technology software to ease and assist your driving experience. Their 2016 upgrade brings minimal changes to the vehicle’s interior and exterior, with most modifications made to the core technology suite. Nonetheless, the new Cadillac keeps its dominance and charm with slight upgrades overall. Though the engine could be better updated, the new Escalade is surely among the best for comfort and convenience and undoubtedly establishes a powerfully attractive presence on the road.

The 2016 Cadillac Escalade retains its aggressive and attractive persona by making minimal changes to the vehicle’s exterior profile. A redesigned grille lines the vehicle’s front end with a powerful and imposing persona, and is horizontally barred with a big Cadillac emblem embedded in the center. Full LED headlights and taillights further adorn the vehicle’s front and back ends, while new small features include a roof rack, invisible rear wiper and advanced forward lighting. Cadillac thus makes slight modifications to the Escalade’s exterior body and successfully retains its outward style and sophistication.

On the inside, you’ll find qualities like style, comfort and convenience held at the highest standard with Cadillac in order to surround occupants with the most satisfying driving experience. With abundant leather upholstery and soft-touch materials, as well as real wood trim – the new Escalade is incredibly comfortable and conveys a sense of lavish relaxation for anyone looking to wind down in this spacious interior. Heated and ventilated power-adjustable seats likewise outfit the front cabin, while rear seats enjoy standard DVD/Blu-Ray entertainment. Optional features include an updated CUE infotainment system hosted on an impressive 12-inch touchscreen display, 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity and a16-speaker Bose premium audio system. The new Escalade also features an upgraded Driver Awareness Package and an improved Surround Vision system with front and rear view cameras, as well as rear parking sensors.

The new Cadillac is equipped with a carry-over engine that has proven its dominance on many occasions.  The current model holds a 6.2-litre Flex-Fuel V8 engine, paired with an eight-speed shiftable automatic transmission and producing a mighty 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. It also offers 18.8 litres per 100 kilometres city and 12.8 litres per 100 kilometres highway, providing less than stellar fuel economy. However, this engine introduces immense force and requires such strength to tow a max capacity of 8,250 pounds.

Several safety features and driver assistants are likewise available with the new Escalade to protect not only drivers and passengers, but also pedestrians. Such features include antilock brakes and traction and stability control, as well as turn-signal integrated mirrors. Driver assistant features include blind-spot warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, head-up display and corner headlights.

Overall, the 2015 Cadillac Escalade is an incredibly spacious and comfortable full size luxury SUV, perfect for transporting people or cargo. If you’re looking for a largely imposing vehicle with outward style and class, this vehicle is definitely one of the best.

Power and Performance:

Standard power for the 2016 Escalade lineup remains the traditional 6.2-liter Flex-fuel V8 engine mated with a now-standard 8-speed shiftable automatic transmission that was introduced late in the 2015 model year. Look again for 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque from this hefty 8-cylinder, with mileage figures expected to return estimated at 15 mpg city/22 highway/17 combined in RWD trims, and 15/21/17 in 4WD variants. Maximum towing capacity, meanwhile, is slated to remain some 8,250 pounds.

Interiors and Special Features:

The highest quality materials and upholstery are still used. The interior is leather-lined. The main changes involve upgrades in trim levels. The basic model will have the navigation system, optional heated and ventilated front seats, stereo system and genuine wood trim. The CUE infotainment system remains, but engineers say that the previous problems of delayed response time have been resolved. There is an upgrade in the voice-recognition system which should increase blue-tooth capability and safer use. There will be a larger, 12.3″ screen size for important information and an 8″ touch screen for the infotainment center.

Safety features:

Safety-wise, all 2016 Escalade trims are expected to carry standard 4-wheel antilock brakes (ABS), traction and stability control, front side-mounted airbags, 3-row head airbags, and a unique front center airbag, as well as daytime running lights, turn-signal-integrated mirrors, and OnStar emergency alerts and communications. Also expected back are the standard post-collision safety system and remote antitheft alarm of past versions, with higher trims adding blind-spot warnings, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, front and rear collision mitigation braking, cornering headlights, and a windshield-displayed head-up function.
