Full Review

The 2016 Cadillac Escalade ESV is both spacious and comfortable, exhibiting the finest leather upholstery throughout its interior and the latest technology software to ease and assist your driving experience. Their 2016 upgrade brings most changes to the vehicle’s interior and exterior, with slight modifications made to the outer body and significant extensions for core space and comfort. Evidenced throughout these changes are a clear attention to detail and a true appreciation for an upscale vehicle with a dominant attitude. Though the engine could definitely be upgraded after this carry-over, the new Escalade ESV dominates the road with a menacing presence and undoubtedly provides the best comfort and convenience for occupants.

The 2016 Cadillac Escalade ESV is both aggressive and attractive in their most recent upgrade to the luxury SUV, making minimal but noteworthy changes to its exterior profile. Sharp creases adorn the side body while vertical LED lights run from the headlights down to the fog light cluster, effectively drawing the eye to the menacingly squared-off front end with a redesigned chrome grille. Outward style and sophistication is thus kept and expanded on in this year’s upgrade to the Escalade ESV’s exterior body.

On the inside, you’ll find qualities like style, comfort and convenience held at the highest standard with Cadillac in order to give occupants the most satisfying driving experience. The uniquely designed cabin is wrapped in high-quality leather and trimmed in genuine wood detailing, adding a clean elegance that is found throughout the interior. Heated and ventilated seats likewise outfit the front seats, while rear seats enjoy standard DVD/Blu-Ray entertainment. Optional features include an updated CUE infotainment system hosted on a high-resolution 12-inch touchscreen display, 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity and a 16-speaker Bose premium audio system. The new Escalade also features an upgraded Driver Awareness Package and an improved Surround Vision system with front and rear view cameras, as well as rear parking sensors.

The 2016 ESV is equipped with two engines that are relatively out-dated for the Cadillac lineup, but powerful nonetheless. The current model holds a 6.2-litre V8 engine, paired with eight-speed shiftable automatic transmission, which produces a mighty 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This engine is rated at 18.8 litres per 100 kilometres city and 12.8 litres per 100 kilometres highway, providing below average fuel economy. Alternatively available is a less powerful 3.6 litre V6 engine that produces 420 horsepower. Both units are incredibly forceful for carry-over engines and require such strength to tow a mass capacity of 8,250 pounds.

Standard safety features include antilock brakes and traction and stability control, as well as turn-signal integrated mirrors. Driver assistant features include blind-spot warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, head-up display and corner headlights.

As it stands, the 2016 Cadillac Escalade ESV is the largest luxury SUV on the market and dominates the road with great powertrains and an extremely roomy cabin. If you’re looking for a large vehicle with both style and class, on top of huge towing capacity – this vehicle is among the best.
