Quick Look

The 2016 Audi TTS is infinitely attractive despite only minor modifications made to the vehicle as a whole. Though the front fascia is restyled with LED matrix headlamps and a slightly refreshed grille, the real highlight of this luxury vehicle can be found within the interior cabin. Most notably, the upgraded Multi-Media Interface has moved from the center stack to combine with the drivers gauge cluster in an effort make all cabin controls driver centric and effectively Virtual Cockpit-like. Complementing the coupe’s outwardly aggressive demeanour is a forceful 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, mated with six-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission and running on Quattro all-wheel drive. Overall, this vehicle is great for energetic luxury cruising where relatively all interior functions are organized around the driver.

Full Review

The 2016 Audi TTS is minimally updated on the outside, but nonetheless sports some minor modifications within the interior cabin for a ride that is overall stylish and comfortable – perfect for the modern luxury drier. This year’s update includes subtle changes to the vehicle’s front fascia and interior design, which differ slightly from the standard TT model. And though the sport-coupe is infinitely attractive and comfortable on the inside, it loses appeal with a center stack that avoids passenger usability for the sake of driver-centric controls. All elements combined, your luxury car experience is sure to be heightened with the sophisticated charm of Audi.

The 2016 Audi TTS features slight modifications to the outer profile in this year’s upgrade, most notably to the front fascia which takes on more of an aggressive demeanour that will definitely capture attention on the road. The overall body structure is slimmer and narrower, adding to improved aerodynamics and less resistance when cruising. As such, LED matrix headlights and a trapezoidal single-frame grille adorn the front end for a sleek and polished finish. The body’s sheet metal is imprinted with crisp accent creases and sharp lines, culminating in an outer profile that boasts elegance and sophistication that Audi is so notable for.

On the inside, however, is a cabin that exhibits both style and class throughout for a comfortable and spacious drive. Leather upholstery with raised, honeycomb patterned material lines the door panels and performance-oriented seating in a way that looks a bit retro but in an attractively good way. Ambient and accent lighting are also available, and there’s also plenty of space and more than enough legroom in the front cabin for relaxed cruising. The TTS is offered with an Express Red hue for the leather seats, and moreover features three different gauge layouts to suit your preference.

Raising the bar from the standard TT, the new Audi is completely geared toward driver satisfaction and features a ton of technical features that are sure to assist and engage your driving experience in the most enjoyable way possible. In the midst of this comfortable interior is a redesigned center stack which no longer features a central multimedia interface. Instead, all infotainment controls have been moved in front of the driver and are organized among the gauge layouts for your convenience. The purpose of this redesign is to create Audi’s Virtual Cockpit, which positions all functions and controls towards the driver. However, the move from the center stack effectively hinders passenger usability. Regardless, Audi’s industry-leading Multi-Media Interface now exists in front of the driver on a 12.3-inch high-resolution display, and can be controlled by a touch-enabled scratchpad down at the center console. Replacing the display on the center stack are round, engine-like vents where climate settings are displayed in the middle areas.

Under the hood is a decently powerful engine, upgraded from the base TT model and inevitably performing well on the road. This vehicle is outfitted with a retuned and turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that is paired with six-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive, and features direct fuel-injection technology while producing a 292 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. The unit further features a progressive steering system and additional exhaust flaps, which assist in feeding sporty sounds into the cabin when driving enthusiastically.

Overall, the 2016 Audi TTS is intensely powerful on the road and likewise features an elegantly designed outer body to reflect such poise. If you’re looking for an attractive and comfortable vehicle that is completely built with the driver in mind, this might be what you’re looking for.

Interiors and Special Features:

The material over the upper dash is a padded, textured material, while TTS models get a raised, honeycomb-patterned material that looks a bit retro in a good way. And interior colors and trims are more varied than they’ve been in TT models of the past, with black, Rock Gray, and Palomino Brown interior themes, and a second contrasting color available in some builds. And there’s an Express Red hue for the leather seats in the TTS.

Safety features:

Audi is ramping up active-safety features with this generation of the TT; and just as with the previous two generations of this sporty coupe or convertible, you can expect the same high standards of occupant protection here as in Audi’s sedans and crossovers. Secondary collision brake assist, which keeps the vehicle from continuing to roll when it’s been in an accident, is now standard on the entire model line. Audi Side Assist and an Active Lane Assist system will both be available—with the latter now offering a gentle pulse-warning through the steering wheel and including a higher-intevention mode that actually helps steer the vehicle to keep it in the travel lane. In overseas versions (and possibly for the U.S.), the TT and TTS offer a Park Assist feature that will measure up parking spots and steer tha car into place while the driver controls the rest.
