Full Review

The 2015 Honda Accord Sedan remains one of the most popular entries in the automaker’s lineup. Canadians love their midsize, family-oriented sedans and many love the Accord just as much. However, over the last few years, the competition has definitely grown stiffer with newcomers like the Ford Fusion, Hyundai Sonata and even Chrysler 200 all making a bid for the honour of being a top-selling vehicle in this segment. Amazingly enough, the 2015 Accord stands up to its rivals like never before, despite carrying over last year's redesign, by delivering slick looks and just about everything you would expect from a car in this price range. There’s more value here than Honda could ever offer in the past.

When it comes to exterior design, the 2015 Accord sedan goes for more contemporary lines instead of following all the recent trends. The segment has turned into a bit of a beauty contest, with many of the Accord’s competitors trying to “out-trend” the other guy. So, it’s nice to see the Accord do the opposite. This means that this four-door sedan will likely age well, which is what you want – especially if you are planning to own it for a while.

On the inside, you will find a five-passenger cabin that’s not particularly outgoing yet sophisticated nonetheless. The “non-outgoing” part comes from its spaciousness, simple, user-friendly control and superb outward visibility. What will draw your eye for is the standard eight-inch screen located in the dash, which showcases audio, phone and navigation information. If you go for the EX-L trim or higher, you will get a secondary screen with touch controls for audio and Bluetooth wireless streaming. The front seats offer both support and comfort, with all the amenities within reach. In the back, you can easily fit two adults, and if your passengers don’t mind being slightly uncomfortable, you can even raise that number to three.

The gasoline-powered Accord can have one out of two engines and three transmissions under its hood. The base powertrain is a 2.4-litre four-cylinder that can produce 185 horsepower (or 189 in Sport versions) and 181 pound-feet of torque (182 in Sport versions). The other engine is 3.5-litre V6 that makes 278 horsepower and 252 pound-feet of torque. In the sedan, the four-cylinder engines are connected to a six-speed manual or continuously variable transmission. The V6 engines are combined with a six-speed automatic.

Overall, the 2015 Honda Accord Sedan is a fantastic choice for a vehicle. We must say that you probably get more value out this version than any other Accord – thanks to the amount of space and power it seems to offer. Definitely give this one a look.

Power and Performance:

Honda has always found a way to inject a little more driving enjoyment into its Accord family -- even though the specifications and important numbers might not be all that different than those of rival models. And that remains the case with the 2015 model, where you'll find a fuel-efficient family of mid-size cars, with surprisingly nimble handling and sprightly performance.

With last year's redesign, performance direct-injection technology came to the Accord, with the base 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine now making 185 horsepower (or 189 for the Accord Sport). With it, you can get a six-speed manual or continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

Interiors and Special Features:

Step into the latest Honda Accord, and its 5-passenger cabin will feel familiar yet sophisticated. The familiar part comes from its roominess, excellent outward vision and easy-to-reach controls. Among the nicer touches is a standard 8-inch screen that sits prominently in the dash to relay audio, phone and navigation information. EX-L models and higher have a secondary screen for touch-operated audio and Bluetooth wireless streaming. The front seats are supportive and comfortable. Rear seats in the sedan are roomy for two adults (three in a pinch) and – not surprisingly – tighter in the coupe.

Safety features:

The 2015 Honda Accord comes with 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes and six airbags (front, front-side and full-length side curtain). Other available safety features include collision and lane-departure warning systems.

In government crash tests, the latest Accord earned a 5-star overall safety rating. That rating consists of a 5-star side-impact rating, a 5-star rollover rating and a 4-star frontal-impact rating.
