Quick Look

The 2015 Honda Accord Coupe may be the least practical vehicle in the lineup, but it does deliver fantastic performance. It can be configured to contain a 3.5-litre V6 engine that makes 278 horsepower and 252 pound-feet of torque, while being connected to a six-speed manual transmission. For a low-priced vehicle, it’s definitely fun to drive.

Full Review

The 2015 Honda Accord remains one of the most popular entries in the automaker’s lineup, and while the coupe variant isn’t as popular as the sedan, it’s still a great vehicle. The 2015 Accord Coupe stands up to its rivals like never before, despite carrying over last year's redesign, by delivering slick looks and just about everything you would expect from a car in this price range. Generally speaking, there’s more value here than Honda could ever offer in the past.

When it comes to exterior design, the 2015 Accord Coupe goes for more contemporary lines instead of following all the recent trends. This particular version of the Accord is slightly more visually appealing than its sedan sibling thanks to its frontward stance, sloping roofline and spear-like rear-window shape. The segment has turned into a bit of a beauty contest, with many of the Accord’s competitors trying to “out-trend” the other guy. So, it’s nice to see the Accord do the opposite. This means that this coupe will likely age well, which is what you want – especially if you are planning to own the vehicle for a while.

On the inside, you will find a five-passenger cabin that’s not particularly outgoing yet sophisticated nonetheless. The “non-outgoing” part comes from its spaciousness, simple, user-friendly control and superb outward visibility. What will draw your eye for is the standard eight-inch screen located in the dash, which showcases audio, phone and navigation information. If you go for the EX-L trim or higher, you will get a secondary screen with touch controls for audio and Bluetooth wireless streaming. The front seats offer both support and comfort, with all the amenities within reach. In the back, however, two adults might feel a little strapped for space, so it might be best to reserve these seats for kids or luggage.

The gasoline-powered Accord can have one out of two engines and three transmissions under its hood. The base powertrain is a 2.4-litre four-cylinder that can produce 185 horsepower (or 189 in Sport versions) and 181 pound-feet of torque (182 in Sport versions). The other engine is 3.5-litre V6 that makes 278 horsepower and 252 pound-feet of torque. The four-cylinder engines are connected to a six-speed manual or continuously variable transmission. If you get the coupe variant, then the V6 therein can be plugged either to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic.

Overall, the 2015 Honda Accord Coupe is a fantastic choice for a vehicle. It’s not as practical as the sedan or as fuel-efficient as the hybrid, but it does what all coupes do well – provide a fun driving experience. So, if you need an affordable two-seater, the Accord Coupe is definitely worth a look.

Power and Performance:

All 2015 Accords are front-wheel drive, and most are fitted with a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine. This engine is rated 185 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. The Sport trim level's less restrictive dual exhaust boosts output to 189 hp and 182 lb-ft of torque.

The standard transmission for all four-cylinder Accords, except the EX-L trims, is a six-speed manual. Optional for those and standard on the four-cylinder EX-L trims is a CVT, which takes the place of a conventional automatic. With the CVT, all Accords but the Sport trim earn an EPA estimate of 31 mpg combined (27 city/36 highway). The CVT-equipped Sport rates 29 mpg combined (26 city/35 highway). With the manual transmission, the four-cylinder Accord stands at 27 mpg combined (24 city/34 highway).

Interiors and Special Features:

That Honda builds a good interior is not lost on us with this Accord. The Coupe's interior is one of the better assembled out there, featuring good quality fit and finish, up to date features and nicely bolstered front seats that feel like they belong in a car twice this Accord's price. Rear seat legroom is adequate for around-town-touring. Long distance drives might be worthy of further consideration for more than two.
