The 2015 Ford Focus delivers good looks, solid performance and plenty of features yet again. Available as a hatchback or sedan, this compact car combines everything one needs from a relatively low-priced vehicle. Ford has also added a 1.0-litre three-cylinder EcoBoost engine for better fuel economy. It can generate 123 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque.

The 2015 Ford Focus continues to be a good-looking, engaging and feature-rich compact car. All that combined with affordability has allowed the Focus to become one of the most popular vehicles around – and that’s no small feat. And while compact cars have a somewhat bad stigma to them, you might be forced to change your mind once you get behind the wheel of the high-performance Focus ST model. In other words, if you are looking for an inexpensive sedan or hatchback, this would be a good start.
When it comes to exterior design, the 2015 Focus truly shines at the front, with a wide-mouth grille that you can also find on the newer versions of the Fusion and Fiesta. It actually now follows the design of the Ford Focus Electric – even the sedan models. The other changes are relatively small, such as a restyled trunk lid and new rear lamps. However, the front end feels just at home with the existing profile. It’s a cleaner look overall, which should change the opinions of those who previously viewed the design as a bit too swoopy.
On the inside, Ford has given the Focus a bit of a “redesign,” though it’s hardly the right word to describe the changes here. The general layout is almost the same as in last year’s model, particularly when it comes to the dashboard and centre console. Some buttons and switches below the infotainment display were rearranged, while the parking brake is now located alongside the driver seat.
The steering wheel is new as well, offering three spokes instead of four, along with separate buttons. The Focus still has the additional tier of gauges above the centre console for showing turbocharger boost pressure, oil temperature and oil pressure information. The Recaro sports seats are also still here, being available in gray and black fabric, if you get the ST1 trim. You can, however, get full Charcoal Black leather in the top-level ST3 model, while the mid-tier ST2 comes with partial leather that you can have in Tangerine Scream, Performance Blue, Smoke Storm or Race Red.
When it comes it comes to features, the Focus now has a new USB smart charging port that can charge two times as fast as the previous port. The Focus also features Ford’s SYNC Bluetooth-based connectivity system with enhanced AppLink, Android and iOS connectivity as well as standard rearview camera.
In terms of space, the front seats deliver plenty of it, but the back seats a little cramped. However, you can still fit in two adults, if you need to. The cargo space – especially in the hatchback variant – is at 23.8 cubic feet with the seats up, which can be expanded to 44.8 cubes when the seats are folded.
Under the hood of the Focus ST, the standard engine is a 2.0-litre direct-injection four-cylinder that generates 160 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque. It’s connected to a five-speed manual transmission that also happens to be the standard across most Focus models. You can also opt for the available six-speed dual-clutch automatic, if you hate manual transmissions. The dual-clutch does tend to be a bit clunky at lower speeds, and it doesn't always push forward the way you would expect, making parking a little annoying. It’s also possible to get a 1.0-litre three-cylinder EcoBoost engine, which can yield only 123 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. It’s connected to a six-speed manual transmission only, while its fuel economy ratings are 7.4 litres per 100 kilometres in the city and 5.2 litres per 100 kilometres on the highway.
The Ford Focus never disappoints and the 2015 model is no exception. You would be cheating yourself out of an excellent vehicle, if you don’t at least give it a look.

|Power and Performance:|
The Focus comes standard with a 2.0-liter direct-injection four-cylinder that produces 160 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. A well-sorted five-speed manual is standard on most Focus models, while a six-speed dual-clutch automatic is optional.
The latter behaves differently than a traditional torque-converter automatic, which is both good and bad. On the negative side, the dual-clutch can be slightly herky-jerky at lower speeds, and it doesn't always creep forward the way one would expect, which can make parking a little touch and go. It does, however, provide smooth, rapid shifts once underway and return excellent fuel economy - 27 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway, to be exact.
In comparison, the five-speed manual-equipped model is good for 26/36 mpg.
An available Super Fuel Economy package, available only with the dual-clutch, increases mileage to 28/40 mpg.
Buyers after even better fuel economy can order the Focus with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine tuned to generate 123 horsepower and 148 lb-ft. of torque. Exclusively linked to a six-speed manual transmission, the engine returns an EPA-estimated 32 mpg in the city and 45 mpg on the highway.

|Interiors and Special Features:|
Although the Focus isn't packaged with quite the level of space-efficiency as some models in its class, it's a rather roomy, versatile, and refined small car. The only thing that we see as a flaw is the overly styled instrument panel layout, which detracts from front-seat space and usefulness--although Ford has upgraded switchgear and trims and reconfigured the center console for 2015. In front or in back, there's just enough legroom and headroom to fit even those over six feet. With the leather upholstery, there's no skimping on look and feel in back; although you won't get mid-size comfort. And Ford has made some suspension changes that might keep the cabin quieter in the 2015 model.

All Focus models are equipped with dual front, front side and full-length side curtain airbags in addition to traction and stability control systems.
Safety-conscious buyers can order radar-based blind spot warning and lane-keeping systems at an extra cost.
