2013 Ford Edge - Ford’s Improved Crossover

The 2013 Ford Edge is a classy crossover. It features a newly designed exterior with a new grill on the front. On this model, you also get 18 inch wheels. Fuel economy is 6.6L/100km on the highway.

When purchasing the Ford Edge you have a choice of engines. One option is a 3.5 liter V6 that produces 285 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque. Another option is the 2 liter, 4 cylinder turbo option. It produces 240 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque.

The car has a well-designed interior. There is plenty of legroom and headroom in the back. In the back there are flip up cup holders to hold your drink.  The instrument panel is well designed as well as the door trim, floor console and shifter.  Plus the fit and finish on the outside carries over to the materials and craftsmanship you can see and feel throughout the interior. The Ford Edge offers the comfort you are looking for no matter if you are sitting in the first or second row.

Everything on the inside is My Ford Touch. There are touch screens which you can control from both sides. On the left side you get all your trip information which includes fuel economy. There are also plenty of touch screen buttons to access your entertainment system. All of the information is at your fingertips. You can add your phone and add music using Bluetooth capabilities.

The 2 liter version responds well. It offers outstanding visibility and you sit higher like in a truck. Out on the road, the throttle is responsive. This vehicle will run you around $40,000. However it offers the latest technologies and is well worth the price.

The 2013 Ford Edge offers a comfortable ride and a cabin stuffed full of sound insulation that provides an ultra-quiet, vaultlike environment. Handling is solid and it does an excellent job around corners. The Sport model is slightly sharper and more agile, but its enormous wheels degrade ride quality which is a major drawback.

Safety is outstanding with the 2013 Ford Edge. It comes with stability control, full length side curtain airbags, and stability control. Another standard feature is the Ford MyKey System, that allows parents to control vehicle speed and stereo volume. One optional feature is a Vision package that includes blind-spot and cross-traffic warning systems.

The Ford Edge Sport with sticky summer tires can stop from 60mph in 122 feet. The Edge EcoBoost trim with regular wheels requires 124 feet to stop at 60mph. Overall the Ford Edge offers improved safety over the past generation.

Overall the 2013 Ford Edge is an outstanding crossover. The exterior design is sharp and there is a lot of room on the inside. Behind the second row, there is a lot of room to carry groceries or luggage. My Ford Touch makes it easier to control every feature of the vehicle. Plus it has all of the latest safety features that will ensure that you are safe every time you take it for a spin.
